CIAA arrests 4, including Chief of Drinking Water Office, Dailekh



DAILEKH: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has nabbed 4 persons, including Topendra Malla, chief of Drinking Water, Irrigation and Power Development Office, Dailekh.

According to CIAA sources, a team of CIAA officials deployed from CIAA office Surkhet arrested them with bribe money.

Malla and 3 others were arrested they took promising the service seeker to facilitate the payment of Santada rivulet embankment of Bhagawatimai-3, Dailekh.

Those nabbed by CIAA include the Office Chief Er. Topendra Malla, sub-engineer Birendra Chand, sub-engineer Ranjit Shrestha and Supervisor Laxmi Pandey.

The CIAA team raided Er. Malla’s quarter and seized Rs 2,41,016 taken as bribe.

CIAA has initiated investigation on the issue and is preparing to sue them.
