Bangladeshi President to visit Nepal from November 11

KATHMANDU: Bangladeshi President Abdul Hamid is visiting Nepal in November, according to Bangladeshi media reports.

Bangladeshi Foreign Secretary Shahidul Haque says that the two countries will discuss various bilateral issues including the Preferential Trade Agreement and operating direct transportation among Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, and Nepal (BBIN) as proposed by the Dhaka government, Dhaka Tribune reported.

The Daily Star, on the other hand, reports that the visit has been scheduled for November 11 to 14.

Earlier, Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had met her Nepali counterpart KP Sharma Oli on the sidelines of the 28th summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in Baku of Azerbaijan. During the meeting, she had urged Oli to finalize the PTA and implement the BBIN Motor Vehicle Agreement.
