Minister Gyawali launches Brain Gain Center

KATHMANDU: Minister for Foreign Affairs (MoFA) Pradeep Gyawali on Friday launched the Brain Gain Center (BGC) at the Ministry.

The BGC is a platform run by the Policy, Planning, Development Diplomacy, and Overseas Nepali Affairs Division of MoFA aimed at collecting information about and fostering a partnership with Nepali experts as well as professionals from around the world.

The Center also aims at recognizing, promoting, mobilizing, connecting, and rewarding the experts’ work to complement to Nepal’s socio-economic development. The BGC database can be accessed at www.mofa.gov.np/bgc.

The information gathering initiative is the first step towards establishing networks between local and diaspora experts, a MoFA statement said.

Minister Gyawali has already invited experts to register to the Center database. The statement said around 450 Nepali diaspora members have been already registered in the database.
