Shaman sacrifices toddler ‘to attain supernatural power’

JANAKPURDHAM: In what we call a bizarre ritual, a shaman scarified a toddler  in Dhanusha district in the pretext of gaining supernatural power.

Satrughana Mahato, 55, a self-proclaimed shaman, performed an inhumane act in front of his yard in the wee hours of May 7 and dumped the two-and-a-half-year-old Aryan Sah’s body after committing the murder in the field nearby.

Mahato  took the child to his residence and slit his throat when her mother was away to collect fodder.

After Sah was reported missing, police launched an investigation into the case with sniffer dogs. Mahato was finally landed in the police net yesterday.

He confessed the crime that the performed the barbaric act to please gods.
