Citizenship cards record file seized from DAO, Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs has seized a record file maintained at the District Administration Office, Kathmandu on the charge of issuing citizenship certificates to foreigners forging fake documents.

Acting on a tip-off that the citizenship cards were distributed to Indian, Tibetan and Bhutanese nationals,  the Home Ministry took the record file of citizenship cards under control.

Meanwhile, the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has also directed the Home Ministry to probe the case.
