SC orders release of man who greeted PM with black flag

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday ordered the release of Rudra Prasad Ghimire arrested on the charge of showing a black flag to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

Hearing a habeas corpus petition claiming his detention to be illegal, a joint bench of Justices Deep Kumar Karki and Hari Prasad Phuyal ordered his release.

Ghimire was arrested on March 20 as he greeted the Prime Minister with a black flag while the latter was addressing a function to mark the win over the historic Jeetgadi fort.
