Jeep hit kills two in Banke



BANKE: Two people were killed in a road accident at Kohalpur-3, Madanchowk of the district along the East-West Highway on Friday night, police said.

Area Police Office, Kohalpur said the deceased are identified as Usha Chaudhary, 32, of Thakurdwara-8 of Bardiya and Lok Bahadur Shahi, 30, of Baijyanath Rural Municipality-1, Chisapani of Banke.

Police Inspector Min Bahadur BC informed the deceased were travelling on separate scooters while the mishap happened last night. Police said scooters Bhe 5 Pa 1420 and Bhe 8 Pa 2165 collided with each other. Following the collision, the scooters were hit by a speeding jeep Ba 15 Cha 2096.

The injured passed away while receiving treatment at the Kohalpur-based Teaching Hospital. The jeep driver Roshan Oli has been apprehended, police said.
