UN Sec-Gen appreciates Nepal’s role in UN peace operations

KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense, Ishwor Pokhrel met with the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres at the latter’s office in New York.

On the occasion, Minister Pokhrel conveyed Nepal’s readiness to contribute its troops in the UN peacekeeping missions. He also underscored Nepal’s peace transformation with the success of home-grown peace process, and thanked the UN for its support.

On the occasion, Guterres thanked Nepal for being UN’s reliable partner in its efforts in maintaining international peace and security.

Guterres also appreciated Nepal’s role in multi-dimensional UN peace operations.
