KATHMANDU: Minister for Education, Science and Technology Giriraj Mani Pokharel on Sunday emphasized the need to develop universities as a place for research and academic uplift.
He said that universities should not be a place for fulfilling one’s personal political aspirations.
Speaking at a program organized by Nepal University Teachers’ Association (NUTA) in Kathmandu today, Minister Pokharel said that the Bills relating to Higher Education, Technical and Vocational Education have been forwarded to the Council of Ministers for discussion.
Likewise, Tribhuvan University (TU)’s Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Dharmakanta Baskota sought cooperation from all quarters to develop TU as a place for acquiring knowledge and conducting research.
