298,975 tourists visit Gandaki state in one year



POKHARA: A total of 298,975 foreign tourists have visited Gandaki State in a year, according to the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment of the state in the fiscal year 2018-19.

There was no data in the record as how many tourists visited Pokhara in a specific time period in the previous years.

The state government had begun the process of collecting the data soon after its formation, said ministry’s information officer Shiva Pariyar.

In October-November, Pokhara had welcomed 38,575 tourists — the highest number of tourists in the year. Meanwhile, the lowest number of tourists recorded June-July was 12,602.
