Villagers carry generator for X-ray

DOLPA: Villagers have to carry generator for their treatment in the remote district Dolpa. The generator has to be carried to the district hospital to diagnose their ailment due to the lack of sufficient power.

The hospital will conduct X-ray for the patients only after their kin manage generator for the hospital.

According to Mangali Rokaya, 55, a local, the villagers have to hire the generator for Rs 500 per hour from a local market.

“I had to carry generator for the treatment of my son at a time when he got his hand fractured,” Jaya Krishan Hamal, a local, said his painful story.

According to him, villagers are forced to manage generator themselves for X-ray due to the negligence of the local government and the hospital management committee.
