 Thieves decamp with onions, leaving cash behind



 NEW DELHIThieves have broken into a vegetable shop and decamped with onions, leaving the cash behind.

This incident took place in East Midnapore district in the Indian State of West Bengal on Monday night at a time when the price of onions hit the record Rs 100 per kilogram.

With the price skyrocketing, the onions have seemingly more precious for thieves than the cash.

Akshya Das had his shop burgled at Sutahata on Monday night and found his things scattered when he opened is outlet on Tuesday morning.

According to Das, burglars decamped with onions worth Rs 50,000, besides garlic and ginger.
