Jaleshwor jail inundated following torrential rain



JALESHWOR: The Jaleshwor Jail in Mahottahari has been completely inundated following the torrential rains on Friday morning.

The rain which started to fall from at 5 am this morning continued for around one and half hour, which left the prison area waterlogged.

The jail, which is around 160-year-old is located in a lower point of Jaleshwor municipality-2.

According to Pradeep Kumar Saha, the jailer at the prison, inundation during this season has been a frequent problem.

Inmates have been facing problem to cook their food besides sleeping, going to the toilet, among others. A total of 463 people are currently in jail.
