Locals stay around fire as cold grips Mahottari 



JALESHWOR: Central, western and southern parts in Mahottari district including the district headquarters Jaleshwor have not witnessed sunshine for the past 11 days.

With district covered in thick fog and mist,  people are compelled to bear the brunt of biting cold. Adverse seasonal weather featured by cold wave, chilling cold, thick fog and mist since December 17 has thrown the normal life out of gear.

It has its adverse impact on livestock and winter crops as well. People are unable to carry on daily activities owing to unfavorable weather.

Children and aged people have been the hardest hit. The biting cold is taking toll on winter crops and vegetables in the field, farmers lamented.

People’s movement in public places has gone down. However, the adverse weather has increased the market for winter and woolen garments as its sale has increased.
