Child swept away by swollen river in Nuwakot

NUWAKOT: Saroj Ghale of Bhalche, Kispang rural municipality-1 in Nuwakot district has been missing after he was swept away by a river while returning home from school.

The nine-year-old boy was returning home from the school, Holy Vision Public Boarding School, at Kispang-3 on Monday and was swept away while crossing the Jangando river on the way, Assistant Sub-Inspector at the Phikuri-based police post, Mahananda Yadav, said.

Yadav said a search was carried out immediately after the incident was reported but the boy has not been found as of the morning today. Police have continued searching for the missing boy.

There is no bridge over the river and people have to risk their lives to cross it during the monsoon.
