Grade 12 board exams to kick off from tomorrow



BHAKTAPUR: The board exam of Grade 12 will start from tomorrow across the country. The exam is scheduled to start from 7:00 am.

A total of 428,052 examinees will be appearing for the Grade 12 exam. The exam will conclude on May 9.

Similarly, Grade 11 board exam will begin from May 12 and preparations for exam have been completed, said  Krishna Prasad Sharma, the controller of National Examination Board. A total of 508,494 students will be appearing in the final test of Grade 12.

The exam concludes on May 21. The total number of students for both exams is 936,564 (regular, partial and for grade improvement) and 493,549 are girls while 442,000 are boys.

The highest number of students in both exams are from Kathmandu district – 71,527 from class 11 and 62,588 from class 12. The board has managed 1,107 centers across the nation and the Kathmandu has the maximum 122 centers and Manang and Mustang has one center each, board member- secretary Durga Aryal said.

Special arrangements have been made for those students with hearing deficiency, visual impairment or mental retardation or other sorts of disabilities. Similarly, provisions are in place for those examinees  serving a jail-term or child correction home.

The board has put all the exam centers under the surveillance of CCTVs security system for the credibility of question papers.

Center superintendents are not allowed to carry a mobile phone while transporting question papers from a room inside the police cordon to exam halls. Besides, a system has been developed to receive the information about exam across the country.

A total of 34,490 human resources have been mobilized for conducting the exam.
