PM Oli undergoes surgery for appendicitis



KATHMANDU: The surgery conducted on Prime Minister KP Oli for his appendicitis has been completed at TU Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj.

A team of doctors led by Dr Ramesh Singh Bhandari conducted surgery for appendicitis of Prime Minister Oli, Dr Arun Sayami told Khabarhub.

It took around 45 minutes to complete the surgery. Prime Minister Oli will remain at the hospital for few days.

Oli was admitted to Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Center of the TU Teaching Hospital after he complained of some stomach problem on Tuesday morning.

Following a diagnosis of appendicitis, doctors had advised Oli to undergo surgery for it.

Oli underwent dialysis of his kidney for the fourth time at the Dhapasi-based Grande International Hospital on Sunday.

The prime minister has been undergoing regular dialysis at the hospital after the kidney that was transplanted some 12 years ago stopped functioning.
