Landslide kills one, injures two

DARCHULA:  A person died and two others sustained critical injuries when a landslide occurred at Ratakatha of under-construction Darchula-Tinkar road in Duhun Rural Municipality-3.

Raghubir Singh Dhami, 39, of Naugad Rural Municipality-4, Sipti died on the spot when the landslide occurred this morning buried him, shared Rabindra Kathayat, Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP).

The landslide buried Dhami to death while he was herding the cattle to Byas area from Khalanga, for grazing.

The injured are Mansingh Thagunna of Naugad-4 and Udharo Thagunna of ward-3.

It may be noted that the explosives were blasted on Darchula-Linker road section on Monday.

Dinesh Raikhola, engineer at the Darchula-Linker road project, shared that the road widening drive was gaining full momentum.
