Update: Eight killed in Kavrepalanchok bus accident



KATHMANDU: Eight people were killed on the spot after a passenger bus met with an accident in Buchakot of Namobuddha Municipality-2, Kavrepalanchok, on Friday.

The bus (Ba 2 Kha 8398), which was travelling from Banepa to Roshi Rural Municipality, veered off the road and plunged around 200 metres down a slope at Buchakot at approximately 2:15 p.m.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rabin Bista of the Kavrepalanchok District Police Office, 16 people, including the driver, were injured in the accident.

The injured have been taken to Dhulikhel Hospital for treatment, DSP Bista said. Further details of the incident are awaited.
