NEPALGUNJ: Police have rescued nineteen Nepali women from the Nepalgunj border being ‘trafficked’ to India.

The women were stopped at Jamaunaha transit point on the border when they were travelling on a bus en route to Delhi from Nepalgunj, according to Sub Inspector of Police Basant Basnet, who is also the Area Police Office Jamunaha.

Meanwhile, police had on Friday night rescued 10 women from the border. Police have been vigilant on the bordering areas with the collaboration of Maiti Nepal and Tiny Hand, Nepal.

The rescued women had earlier said that they were heading to the Gulf countries and Iraq. The rescued women belong to districts such as Nuwakot, Dhading, Morang, Chitwan, Gulmi and Makwanpur.

The women have been kept at the Maiti Nepal’s Nepalgunj-based offices.
