Birendranagar to be made bicycle city

BIRENDRANAGAR: The Karnali state government has declared to make Birendranagar a ‘bicycle city’.

The government’s policies and program brought for the fiscal year of 2018/19 has said that the government’s declaration in this regard aims to make Birendranagar environment-friendly and reduce carbon emission.

The Office of Chief Minister and Council of Ministers has bought the total 15 bicycles in a bid to encourage the use of a bicycle, said the government’s spokesperson Keshab Prasad Upadhyay.

“We are distributing these bicycles to employees of the Office of Chief Minister,” he said. The bicycles were purchased for Rs 40,000 each.
