Leader Nepal stresses on revising Media Council Bill

KATHMANDU: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has stressed on the need to revise Media Council Bill.

“The bill has sparked widespread debate and it should be revised,” the former prime minister said at a press meet on Saturday.

The Media Council Bill registered at Parliament by the government has drawn flak from several quarters saying that it would curtail press freedom and establish the proposed Media Council as a government-controlled body.
