Trump to sell $8 bln worth weapons to Gulf countries

 WASHINGTON: United States of America (USA) is set to sell weapons worth $8 billion to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan.

US President Donald Trump decided to took a decision to the effect, overlooking the objections from Congress on Friday.

The Trump administration informed congressional committees that it will go ahead with 22 military sales to the Saudis, United Arab Emirates and Jordan.

Members of Congress had been blocking sales of offensive military equipment to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates for months.
