Office assistant arrested for taking bribe



KATHMANDU:  An office assistant (peon) at Land Revenue Office, Bhairahawa has been caught red-handed with bribe.

Following a complaint that peon Jogendra Prasad Chaudhary has been demanding bribe from a service seeker, a team from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) arrested him.

He was arrested from the office premises on Wednesday after taking Rs 20,000 as a kickback, said CIAA Spokesperson Pradeep Kumar Koirala.
