Minister for Urban Development Rai puts in papers

KATHMANDU: Minister for Urban Development Mohamed Istiyak Rai put in papers on Tuesday after his party decided to quit the KP Oli-led government following a discontent over constitution amendment.

Minister Rai handed over the resignation letter to PM Oli.

In the resignation letter, Minister Rai has extended a special thanks to PM Oli for appointing him to the post.

Samajbadi Party Nepal (SSPN) – a major partner in the Oli-led cabinet – has walked out of the government citing the prime minister’s lack of responsiveness.

As per the decision, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Upendra Yadav too has handed over his resignation to the prime minister.
