KATHMANDU: The 16 days of activism against gender-based violence has been launched at Mahalaxmi municipality today.

Launching the campaign, Deputy Mayor at Mahalxami municipality, Nirmala Thapa,  said that public awareness should be increased regarding women security. The campaign has been launched under the slogan ‘Generation Equality Stands Against Rape’.

On the occasion, Mayor Rameshwor Shrestha expressed commitment to take the necessary initiative for women empowerment.

The activism would run from November 25 to December 10 where training would be imparted to health volunteers, women members and students of municipality area about positive thinking and self-defense.
