Smart street lights to be installed in Lalitpur



LALITPUR: The Lalitpur metropolis is making preparations to install ‘smart’ lights in the major streets of the metropolis. The metropolis is fixing smart lights  in collaboration with the Nepal Electricity Authority.

Smart lights will be installed in five major roads of the metropolis within the current fiscal year, according to  Raju Maharjan, metropolis spokesperson. The lights will be installed from Satdobato to Dhapakhel, Pulchowk to Lagankhel, from Kupandol to Patandhoka-Mangalbazar, from Pulchowk to Mangalbazar-Gwarkho and Ekantakuna to Bungmati.

“Smart lights have automatic switch off and on facility, with the lights getting automatically on when pedestrians and vehicles pass by and off when passengers and vehicles are not there,” said Maharjan.
