KATHMANDU: A team of the National Human Rights Commission comprising NHRC members Prakash Wosti and Sudip Pathak, Secretary Bed Bhattarai and two other staffers has left for South Africa to study the situation of human rights in the country.
The team will study the situation of human rights in South Africa while also exchange experiences with human rights institutions in the country, according to NHRC Director Murari Prasad Kharel. The team will also acquire information from the human rights commission about its activities, the process of complaints, state of recommendations among others.
It will also look into the history of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, its functions and the enforcement of its recommendations, added Kharel.
