Two Indian nationals among three arrested with 4.2 kg yarsagumba



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested three persons including two Indian nationals along with yarsagumba, a unique caterpillar-fungus fusion, worth Rs 8 million.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team deployed from Metropolitan Police Sector, Naagdhunga arrested them with 4.113 kg yarsagumba.

Police said the yarsagumba was seized from a car with Indian registration number, UK 04 TB 1967, they were traveling in.

The arrested are Indian nationals Prem Singh, 32, and Harish Singh, 32, of the Indian state of Uttarakhand and Garje Singh Mahara, 48, of Darchula in Nepal.

They have been handed over to Division Forest Office, Hattisar for further action.

Yarsagumba, also known as Himalayan Viagra, is found in the highlands of Nepal.
