Paudel faction to hold conclave to exert pressure on Deuba

KATHMANDU: District Presidents of the main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) loyal to Ram Chandra Paudel-led faction are all set to hold a huge gathering in the capital to pile pressure on President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

A meeting of 17 district presidents of the main opposition NC associated with Paudel faction took the decision to hold the gathering by February 12.

Representatives from all 330 provincial constituencies including the district presidents will participate in the conclave, according to Kavre District President Madhu Acharya.

Acharya added that the gathering has been called to exert pressure on the leaders to comply with the rules and regulations of the party.

Meanwhile the presidents of 17 districts including Kavre, Nuwakot, Sindhupalchowk, Ramechhap, Sankhuwasabha, Jajarkot, Banke, Dadeldhura, Khotang, Rolpa, Udayapur have urged top leaders to follow the party statute in a letter and spirit.

The leadership should move ahead by involving all the cadres and leaders based on their qualification, contribution and caliber, said Acharya, concluding that President Sher Bahadur Duaba is incapable of forming the various departments of the party as per the statute.
