RAW Chief Goel returns home

KATHMANDU: Samant Goel, chief of Indian Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), India’s foreign intelligence agency, has returned home on Tuesday, wrapping up his two-day visit to Nepal.
RAW Chief Goel, leading a five-member delegation, arrived in Nepal on Sunday. Even though Goel’s Nepal visit was planned for five days, he cut short his visit and returned home today, a highly placed source of Nepal’s security agency told Khabarhub.
This is Goel’s first Nepal visit after his appointment as the head of RAW, last month. He was working as the special secretary of RAW, previously. It is learned that officials of the political bureau were also in the team.

Goel is reported to have held high-level political meetings during his stay in Nepal.

RAW head’s Nepal visit is viewed significantly at a time when Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Nepal visit is speculated in the near future.
