New rule for Nepalis traveling thru India

KATHMANDU: The Indian government has made it mandatory for Nepalis arriving India from China, Macau, Hong Kong and Pakistan to obtain an Indian visa.

Issuing a notice, the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi informed about the new rule, adding that a letter from the Immigration Department of the concerned countries is also compulsory.

Likewise, Nepalis traveling to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Iraq, Libya and Lebanon through India need a no objection letter issued by the New Delhi-based Nepali Embassy, the notice mentioned.
