KATHMANDU: The widows of two Sherpa climbers on Thursday scaled Mount Everest to raise awareness about the Nepali mountain guides and to inspire single women.

Furdiki Sherpa and Nima Doma Sherpa reached the world’s highest mountain at around 5:25 am this morning.

Furdiki lost her husband in a mountaineering accident in 2013 and Nima Doma’s husband was killed in the 2014 avalanche.
