VP to announce the closing of Eighth National Games

NEPALGUNJ: Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun is scheduled to announce the closing of the Eighth National Games in Nepalgunj on Wednesday.

Bhim Oli , President of State-5 Sports Development Committee  informed that the Vice President will declare the closing of the Eighth National Games amid a grand ceremony at the Mahendra Stadium in Nepalgunj on Wednesday.

On the closing day, the final match of the football will take place.

The Vice President will inaugurate the football final which will be held at 3.30 pm tomorrow.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari had formally inaugurated the Games at the Nepalgunj Stadium on April 18, although it had begun on April 10.

Thirty-five various events have been held under the Games in Banke, Bardiya, Dang, Kapilvastu and Rupandehi districts of State-5. Some sports competitions, among the 35 sports events, were held in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Pokhara.

Around 5,000 athletes competed in the Eighth National Games.
