Dang self-sufficient on food production

DANG: The district of Dang has turned self-sufficient on food production with its annual production rate reaching 123,581 metric tons.

The consumption is 115,179 metric tons, according to the Agricultural Knowledge Center’s assistant information officer, Phirtuman Chaudhary.

As the estimated population in the Dang district is 636,349, the existing production is sufficient to meet the people’s food requirements.

The district’s population growth is 1.78 each year. Around 181 kilograms of food are required per person every year which means that Dang saves 8401.83 metric tons of its production annually, according to Chaudhary.

The production, he informed, is increasing each year.

Dang exports the leftovers as the production of maize, rice, millet, wheat, barley, and buckwheat exceeds the demand for it, Chaudhary informed.
