Electricity generated from wind power in Palpa



PALPA: Energy has been produced from wind in Mityal of Nishi rural municipality of Palpa district.

With support from the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre, the rural municipality has produced 15 KW from wind and 10 KW from a hybrid of wind and solar energy.

The project was completed in two and a half years at the total cost of Rs. 2.25 million, according to the user committee chair Bhupindra Sunari Magar.

The energy is now being used to light people’s homes in Jhyaltung, Maulathar, Rupsebhanjyang, Kafal areas in the rural municipality.

Also, the municipality office, the police office, and local schools are benefitting from the project.

Two wind turbines have been installed at the Ruksebhanyang hills of Mityal to produce energy from the wind.
