India PM Modi hails Chandrayaan-2 launch

NEW DELHI: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the launch of the Chandrayaan-2 will be engraved in the records of India’s glorious history.

Modi’s statement came soon after Chandrayaan-2, India’s second mission to the Moon, was launched from Andhra Pradesh’s Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. The launch, PM Modi said, has illustrated the 130 crore Indians’ and scientists’ determination to scale new frontiers of science, Indian media reports have said.

India on Monday successfully launched Chandrayaan-2, its second lunar mission, onboard its rocket GSLV-MkIII-M1 with an aim to explore the unchartered south pole of the moon.

PM Modi termed the mission as “Indian at heart, Indian in spirit!” (Agencies)
