Miklajung Massacre: Blood-soaked clothes, khukuri recovered

KATHMANDU: Police have received clothes and a khukuri soaked in a pool of blood two kilometers from the place where the main suspect was found hung.

These evidences were found packed in a bag by the police in course of investigation. Man Bhadur Makhim, the youngest son-in-law of Bam Bahaudur Fiyak, is the main suspect of the crime.  Makhim and his wife were staying separately after their relationship sourced. His death has made the incident further mysterious and complicated.

According to Sita Khajum, the sole survivor of the gruesome massacre, a masked man barged into the house at night and started attacking them with a sharp weapon.

Police have received clothes and a khukuri soaked in a pool of blood two kilometers from the place where the main suspect was found hung.

Nine family members including a minor of two families were ruthlessly killed at Arubote of Miklajung Rural Municipality-3 on Monday night. The deceased include  Dhanraj Sherma, 41, Jasmita Phiyak, 36, Man Kumari Phiyak, 26, six-year-old Iksha Sherma, Yobana Sherma, 13, eight-year-old Muna Sherma, Bam Bahadur Fiyak, 74 and his wife and 12-year-old Aashika Khajum Limbu.

A special team from the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police has reached the attack site, and is carrying out investigations.

Entire Miklajung Rural Municipality is grief-stricken following the gruesome massacre.

Earlier, in 2050 BS, five members of a family had been brutally killed in Timbure of the then Phidim-13, Panchthar.
