Man high on drugs sets wife on fire



DHANUSHA: A man high on drugs attempted to burn his wife to death on Thursday.

According to police, Mukesh Goit Yadav, 24, of Shahid Municipality set his wife Nirmala Yadav on fire after spraying kerosene on her.

Nirmala has suffered burn injuries in more than 70 percent of her body and is undergoing treatment in Kathmandu.

Mukesh, who was high on drugs, is on the run after the incident, police said, adding they have filed a case for murder attempt after the victim’s father lodged a complaint with the police.

The couple was married only ten months ago.
