Westerly wind likely to cause rain, snowfalls



KATHMANDU: The westerly wind is expected to cause light rainfall across the country, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division of Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

The weather will remain generally cloudy in the western region along with eastern and central hilly regions and partly cloudy in the rest of the country with chances of light rain at one or two places of the hilly regions.

There remain chances of light to moderate snowfall at some places of the high mountainous region, it added.

Likewise, partly to generally cloudy throughout the country is forecasted tonight.

Light rain is likely to occur at one or two places of the hilly regions while chances of light to moderate snowfall at some places of the high mountainous region, the Department’s bulletin said.

According to meteorologists, the thick fog in the Tarai has resulted in a dip in the temperature, affecting the normal life there.

The lowest temperature in Kathmandu today was recorded 7 degrees Celsius while the temperature in Dhangadhi has gone below minus.
