Chandrayaan-2 lowers course around the Moon



NEW DELHI: The Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft has performed an orbit maneuver around the Moon bringing it closer to the satellite, Indian media reports have said.

Chandrayaan-2 is currently revolving around the Moon, reports said adding it will stay in the orbit for the next week.

Chandrayaan-2 has performed the maneuver a day after entering the lunar orbit.

It was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.

According to the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), the maneuver began at 12:50 pm on Wednesday. It lasted around 20 minutes. According to ISRO, all spacecraft parameters are normal.

The Chandrayaan-2 will attempt landing a rover on the Moon on September 7, it said. (Agencies)
