Man involved in taking Dr Shrestha hostage sent to jail



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a man for taking Dr Bhakta Man Shrestha hostage, executive director of BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital.

Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the Nepal Police arrested Gautam Yonjan from Maharajgunj on Thursday on the charge of holding Shrestha hostage, said SP Bel Bahaur Pandey, spokesperson of the CIB.

On May 18, Dr Shrestha had been intercepted and taken captive for 18 days in various places including Dhading, Nuwakot and Kathmandu while he was returning home.

Arrested Yonjan has been sent to the central jail in Sundhara.
