NCP secretariat meeting concludes entrusting Dahal to take party’s reins

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Secretariat held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar has concluded this afternoon.

The meeting has decided to entrust the government’s responsibility to Prime Minister K P Oli and party’s responsibility to NCP Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, according to NCP Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha.

With this decision, while Dahal will be the executive chairman of the NCP, PM Oli will remain as the Prime Minister for the full term.

Shrestha, however, said the issue of cabinet reshuffle did not figure out in today’s meeting.

It should be noted that the two top leaders had during the time of unification between the two parties — erstwhile CPN-UML and the CPN Maoist (Center) in 2018 had agreed to share the prime-ministership between Oli and Dahal.
