One dead, another hurt in road accident



KAWASOTI: A person was killed and another injured in a road accident took place at Madhyabindu Municipality along the East-West Highway in Nawalparasi on Tuesday morning.

The District Police Office, Nawalparasi has confirmed the death of Sahabir Aalam, 36, from Motihari, India who was operating a shop of plastic items at Chormara of Madhyabindu Municipality-7, in the accident.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Arjun Ranabhat, a bus (Na 5 Kha 486) en route to Mahendranagar from Kathmandu knocked down his bicycle at Chormara, leaving him severely injured. He later breathed his last in course of treatment at the District Hospital.

The bus also hit a motorcycle (Na 45 Pa 2107) at the same time leaving motorcyclist Bhanubhakta Pageni of Madhyabindu municipality-7 injured. He is being treated at a local medical hall, according to the police.
