CoAS Thapa signs 2.41-bln deal with China on military assistance



KATHMANDU: Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Purna Chandra Thapa, who is on an official visit to China, has signed a 2.41 billion agreement with the northern neighbor.

China, in the deal, has agreed to provide various military equipment worth Rs 2.41 billion under humanitarian assistance and disaster management.

CoAS Thapa, who is currently in China at the invitation of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, has paid a courtesy call on General Li Zuocheng, member of Central Military Commission (CMC).

Meanwhile, Thapa also inspected the headquarters of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army in Beijing. Thapa, who embarked on a journey to China on June 16, will return home on June 22.
