President Bhandari to leave for China on Wednesday

KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari is scheduled to embark on a nine-day visit to China on April 24. She is leaving for  the northern neighbor to take part in the second summit of Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

It is learnt that Bhandari will receive a state honor on the occasion.

China is welcoming the president of Nepal for the first time after the country entered the republican set up.

Even though Ram Baran Yadav, the first president of Nepal, went to visit China twice, he was not treated with state honor.
