NC unveils commitment paper for Nov 30 by-election

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress, the main opposition party, has unveiled its commitment-paper for the November 30 by-election.

Party Spokesperson Bishwo Prakash Sharma on Tuesday unveiled the ‘Nepali Congress’s Declaration’ amid a news conference at NC Central Office on Tuesday.

The 21-page commitment-paper has incorporated the party’s 21 months as an opposition party, its achievements gained in the party’s leadership and activities that have failed to carry out by the incumbent government in 21 months.

Meanwhile, the party said that it was ready to support any legal action taken against its leader Mohammad Aftab Alam.

Alam, who is currently facing three criminal charges at the Rautahat District Court, was sent to judicial custody by the court last week.

Party spokesperson Sharma urged one and all not to doubt on the party’s position on Alam’s case.

“NC is committed to the implementation of the country’s law,” he said.
