Google Pay pips PhonePe with 67mn monthly users in India

NEW DELHI: Two years after debuting in India, Google’s digital payment platform Google Pay has outpaced PhonePe to hit 67 million monthly active users (MAUs).

Flipkart-backed PhonePe last reported 55 million monthly active users in the country.

At the fifth edition of its annual ”Google for India” event on Thursday, the tech giant said Google Pay’s users grew three times in the past 12 months alone.
