Dengue epidemic: 7,370 confirmed infected in 67 districts



KATHMANDU: Six people have died while 7,370 people have been infected with dengue virus in 67 districts  so far, according to the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division under the Ministry of Health and Population.

Six people – two in Kathmandu, one each in Sindhupalchowk, Sunsari, Chitwan and Doti – have died in the period of two months between  July 17 to September 18, according to the statistics unveiled by the Division.

Dengue virus has spread in 12 districts in Province 1 with 956 people infected with the disease.

Similarly, 62 people have been infected in the eight districts in Province 2, 3,929 in Province 3, 1,964 in Gandaki Province, 396 in Province 5, 11 in Karnali Province and 52 in Far-west Province, according to the Division.
