Mechi Highway disrupted as landslide occurs at Pangrebhir

PANCHTHAR: Ranke-Phidim road section under the Mechi Highway has been disrupted after a landslide occurred at Pangrebhir in Falgunanda Rural Municipality-3 on Wednesday night, said Janak Timsina, chief of District Traffic Police Office, Panchthar.

A huge traffic heading to Athrai of Tehrathum and Taplejung from Birtamod and vice versa have been hit after boulders and rubble fell rolled down to the road.

“Excavators  are being used to remove the debris. It will take a whole day to clear the road,” said Timsina.
